    1 Ani Health InstituteThe health programs are designed to promote sustainable tools that work in partnership with other donors and NGOs and the public sector in Armenia. The advocacy efforts are designed to raise awareness and mobilize resources on child health at the national level. In the fall of 1998, the Board of the Foundation started a Board designated capital fund - the Millennium Armenian Children's Vaccine Fund (MACVF) - to sustain the financing of life saving vaccine procurement to the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno Karabagh for the first 15 years of the millennium. The MACVF is a private-public partnership with funds from the Foundation, the Armenian Diaspora, matching USAID funds and other institutional sources. It is managed by a program advisory council, along with a senior part time health advisor. The fund is expected to make yearly disbursement starting in 2001 to its in-county partner - UNICEF - to finance the procurement of vaccines. In December, 2001, the MACVF fund 0
