What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants seeks to promote quality, cost effective, accessible health care and to promote the professional and personal development of Minnesota physician assistants.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Minnesota Academy of Physician Assistants to promote the professional and personal development of Minnesota physician assistants by organizing and disseminating health care information through forums, panels, education conferences and other similar programs concerning the delivery and quality of health care services within MinnesotaDuring the past fiscal year we had 603 members, an increase of net 15 members from the prior year, an increase of 2.55%. The Fall CME education conference was attended by 110 Physician Assistants. The Spring CME Conference was attended by 192 Physician Assistants and PA students. The June PA Night Out single topic education session was attended by 59 practicing Physician Assistants. During PA Week October 6-12, MAPA distributed 2500 bookmarks to patients and the general public with educational information about the PA profession. That same week, we also conducted a food shelf drive in conjunction with education about combating hunger in Minnesota, contributing over 600 lbs of food and cash donations to local food shelves throughout MN. Other services provided include answering practice issues by the newsletter articles and website, aiding students schedule a shadow a PA experience, and educating new PA grads on how to get started in practice.
