Pt VI, Line 10b
The United Way of Wyandotte County, Inc prepared its 2011 return according
to the IRS instructions and the United Way of America guidance concerning membership
requirement A. Officers and Key Staff prepare all related schedules and reports
and forward them to the independent auditing firm for review and preparation of the
final draft of the return. The final draft of the return is reviewed in
detail by the Finance Committee then distributed to the Board of Directors
for review and comment prior to filing the return. Board may submit
questions or comments to staff or to the audit firm partner for 10 days
after distribution. Staff and tax preparer will respond to
questions and comments in writing to the entire Board prior
to filing the final return.
Pt VI, Line 15
The United Way of Wyandotte County, Inc. has a personnel
committee which reviews the compensation structure of the
organization on a periodic basis. This compensation structure was
last reviewed at the Personnel Committee meeting held June 5, 2007. The Committee
used a variety of tools to evaluate salary information including
the United Way of America periodic Human Capital Study and a local
independent study conducted periodically by the Midwest Center
for Non-Profit Leadership. This Committee also approves
changes in salary for the President/CEO of the organization
annually. All other salary changes are approved by the
President/CEO within the confines of a Board approved Budget.
