What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? American Legion Post 247 exists to support and care for local veterans, to mentor youth in the local community, and to promote patriotism at a local grassroots level.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Post 247 encourages local high school & college bound students to excel in their academic pursuits and as an incentive grants scholarships to deserving students. During 2010, local chapter supported one local student by granting a scholarship.
