29. Chapter quartets presented "Singing Valentines" to some 70 surprised and delighted "Valentines" in the Northern Virginia and District of Columbia areas. Each Valentine received two appropriate songs in personal message from the sender by a tuxedoed quartet, as well as a greeting card and a single rose. The all volunteer staff provide all coordination and absorbed the quartet transportation cost to dispatch the quartets to many parts of the 4-county, 3-state area., to meet requested performance times of the Valentine sender. The program starts 2 days before and continues during Valentines Day and the day after to provide optimal coverage as well as personal interaction of the quartet with the recipient. Additionally, to recognize deployed service members contributions to the nation, we provided free SVs to service members spouses/families.Expenses: 29a $ 602

28.The 56st Annual Show, May 12, 2012, featured outstanding quartets including "Our Town", "Sound Advice" and "Epic" and the FJ Chorus and seven chapter quartets in "A Salute to the Troops (and Moms)". The main women's guest quartet was an Intern'tl Champion-Quality Quartet of Sweet Adelines International and national reputation. Two shows (matinee and evening) were performed at the Ernst Auditorium of the Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, VA. As a success measure, we had over 500 paid attendees, and the evening show was almost sold out. In addition, we gave over 25 complimentary tickets to Fairfax County and City Supervisors, Barbershop District officials and other county dignitaries. Also, we had over 110 performers on stage and 30 ushers, ticket staff, stage hands, lights, and sound effects staff, etc. The annual show raised almost $14,000 in income, and raised slightly less profit than 2010, due to decreased expenses. The Show was again deemed a complete artistic performance success.Expenses: 28a $ 14,822
