PROGRAM TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE INNER EYE. THIS WILL HELP IDENTIFY MEDICAL CONCERNS AND POTENTIAL DISEASES OF THE EYE. THE TARGET AUDIENCE FOR THE PROGRAM IS CHILDREN BETWEEN THE AGES OF SIX MONTHS AND EIGHT YEARS. DURING 2012 OVER 2,000 CHILDREN WERE SCREENED. APPROXIMATELY 10% OF THE CHILDREN EXAMINED THROUGH THIS PROCESS HAVE REVEALED PREVIOUSLY UNDETECTED EYE PROBLEMS. CONTRIBUTIONS ARE RECEIVED FROM UNITED WAY AND THE HOSPITAL DISTRICT BOARD. PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSE 15,336 THE FOUNDATION SPONSORS THE WE CARE HOTLINE, A TOLL-FREE, CRISIS HOTLINE FOR ALL SCHOOL AGED CHILDREN IN HIGHLANDS COUNTY. IT SERVES APPROXIMATELY 15,000 CHILDREN. DURING 2012, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY, 80 PHONE CALLS TO THE HOTLINE. PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSE 8,710 THE CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER. THE FOUNDATION SPEARHEADED THE DRIVE TO BUILD A ONE-STOP, CHILD-FRIENDLY FACILITY WHERE PHYSICALLY AND SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILDREN CAN GO FOR EXAMINATIONS, INTERVIEWS, AND TREATMENT. THE CENTER WAS COMPLETED IN AUGUST, 1998. IN 2012, THERE WERE 386 CHILDREN RECEIVING ESSENTIAL SERVICES THROUGH THE CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER AND 165 ADULTS. PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSE 111,405 JUDGE KELLY IS THE NAME OF AN AWARD GIVEN EACH YEAR TO A "CHAMPION FOR CHILDREN" IN THE COMMUNITY. EACH YEAR A COMMUNITY MEMBER WHO IS AN ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN IN OUR AREA RECEIVES THIS AWARD AFTER BEING NOMINATED BY OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS. PROGRAM SERVICE EXPENSE 58,448 KINSLEY COX LIVING MEMORIAL - THE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED THIS FUND IN MEMORY OF KINSLEY COX WHO WAS A BRAVE LITTLE GIRL THAT PASSED AWAY AT THE YOUNG AGE OF FIVE. THE FUNDS WILL BE USED TO ASSIST FAMILIES WITH TRAVEL AND OTHER RELATED EXPENSES THAT HAVE VERY SICK CHILDREN.
