DANCE ACADEMY: EOJ DANCE ACADEMY CONTINUED TO EVOLVE AS A PRE-PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL OF BALLET. THE VAGANOVA SYLLABUS WAS FULLY IMPLEMENTED INCLUDING A FORMAL TESTING PROGRAM TO CERTIFY STUDENT ADVANCEMENT . AT THE SAME TIME, CLASS OFFERINGS FOR THE YOUNGER STUDENTS WERE RESTRICTED TO BALLET TO KEEP FOCUS ON THE BASIC SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS IN DANCE. HIPHOP AND CONTEMPORARY DANCE WERE RESTRICTED TO OLDER STUDENTS WHO WERE FULLY ENGAGED IN BALLET TRAINING. THE PRIMARY INSTRUCTOR FOR CONTEMPORARY DANCE RECEIVED LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATION FROM DANCE MASTERS OF AMERICA TO BRING THESE OFFERINGS UP TO THE SAME LEVEL AS OUR BALLET PROGRAM AND TO PREPARE FOR THE ADDITION OF A FORMAL MODERN CURRICULUM. THE ANNUAL STUDENT FACULTY PRODUCTION REPRESENTED OUR SHIFT IN FOCUS AS WELL. THE PROGRAM INCLUDED EXCERPTS FROM CINDERELLA AND AN ORIGINAL CONTEMPORARY PROGRAM CALLED SEASONS OF LIFE. EOJ RETURNED TO THE WEST BOCA PERFORMING ARTS THEATRE FOR THE 2012 PRODUCTION AND ATTRACTED AND AUDIENCE OF ABOUT 400.
SECOND ACCOMPLISHMENT

PRODUCTIONS: EOJ PRODUCTIONS WAS BIRTHED IN FY 2011 AS A SEPARATE PROGRAM AREA ABLE TO WORK WITH A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO PRODUCE LARGE AND SMALL- SCALE PERFORMANCES. IT PRODUCED CHRISTMAS ON THE BEACH INVOLVING CHOIRS, BANDS AND PERFORMERS FROM DOZENS OF LOCAL CHURCHES AS WELL AS RECORDING ARTIST AUSTIN ADAMEC AND FORMER SNL COMEDIENNE VICTORIA JACKSON AND ATTRACTING A TOTAL AUDIENCE ESTIMATED AT 3,000. EOJ ALSO PROVIDED PERFORMERS FOR A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY EVENTS INCLUDING CHURCHES, MUNICIPALITIES AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORTING THEIR EVENTS WITH HIGH-QUALITY CHOREOGRAPHY AND PERFORMANCE.
THIRD ACCOMPLISHMENT

OUTREACH: EOJ OUTREACH CONTINUED TO TAKE OUR TRAINING OUT INTO THE COMMUNITY. AMONG THE YEAR'S PROJECTS WERE HIPHOP MASTER CLASSES OFFERED TO DANCERS THROUGHOUT THE COMMUNITY, BALLROOM AND SALSA CLASSES OFFERED AT BOTH CHURCHES AND BALLROOMS, AND A DANCE MINISTRY WORKSHOP OFFERED TO EXISTING AND START-UP DANCE MINISTRIES FROM LOCAL CHURCHES. EOJ OUTREACH HAS ALSO DEVELOPED AND OFFERED TO BOTH PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS AN ART APPRECIATION COURSE TEACHING MUSIC, THEATRE AND DANCE APPRECIATION USING CLASSICAL BALLET AS THE VEHICLE. AND A SALSA PROGRAM IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT WHICH WILL TIE TO SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE CURRICULA.
