CHARGED TO THIS PROGRAM ARE EXPENDITURES RELATED TO THE INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, A PARTNERSHIP AMONG SEVERAL LOCAL COLLEGES WITH THE FUNCTION OF PRODUCING RESEARCH TO ASSIST COMMUNITY LEADERS IN MAKING INFORMED DECISIONS. IN ADDITION TO THIS, THE EXPENSES OF SEVERAL RESEARCH GRANTS ARE RECORDED TO THE RESEARCH CLASSIFICATION. PUBLIC SERVICE INCLUDES FUNDS EXPENDED FOR ACTIVITIES ESTABLISHED PRIMARILY TO PROVIDE NON-INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES BENEFICIAL TO INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS EXTERNAL TO THE UNIVERSITY. THE EXPENSES OF THE SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER, RADIO AND TELEVISION STUDIOS, SEVERAL COMMUNITY LECTURE SERIES, AND ART GALLERY ARE AMONG THOSE POSTED TO THIS PROGRAM.
990 REVIEW PROCESS PART VI, LINE 11 WILKES UNIVERSITY HAS ESTABLISHED A REVIEW PROCESS FOR THE FORM 990. THE INFORMATION IS MADE AVAILABLE TO THE ORGANIZATION'S OFFICERS, TRUSTEES, AND HIGHLY COMPENSATED INDIVIDUALS PRIOR TO THE FILING WITH THE IRS.
MONITORING AND ENFORCEMENT OF THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY PART VI, LINE 12C WILKES UNIVERSITY'S CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY COVERS ALL BOARD MEMBERS AND ANY INDIVIDUAL THAT HAS BUDGETARY / FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES WITHIN THE UNIVERSITY. ANY CONFLICTS OF INTERESTS CONCERNING BOARD MEMBERS ARE FORWARDED TO THE AUDIT COMMITTEE FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL. ALL CONFLICT OF INTEREST STATEMENTS ARE REVIEWED UPON SUBMISSION AND FORWARDED TO THE AUDIT COMMITTEE AS APPROPRIATE. ANY UNIVERSITY ACTIVITIES THAT HAVE A POTENTIAL CONFLICT ARE USUALLY DETECTED BEFORE A CONTRACT IS EXECUTED.
PROCESS FOR DETERMINING COMPENSATION PART VI, LINE 15A AND 15B THE COMPENSATION COMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES PERFORMS AN ANNUAL REVIEW AND APPROVAL OF TOP MANAGEMENT COMPENSATION AS WELL AS OFFICERS AND / OR KEY EMPLOYEES. BENCHMARK DATA FROM COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR HUMAN RESOURCES (CUPA) IS USED FOR COMPARATIVE PURPOSES FOR EXECUTIVE POSITIONS. THE LAST BENCHMARKING COMPARISON WAS COMPLETED IN DECEMBER 2011. THE UNIVERSITY KEEPS WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION OF ITS DELIBERATION AND DECISION MAKING PROCESS.
