What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? PRIMARY PURPOSE IS TO REPRESENT THE MEMBERS OF LOCAL 2225 IN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE COMPANIES THAT EMPLOY ITS MEMBERS. NEGOTIATIONS INCLUDE WAGES, FRINGE BENEFITS AND WORKING CONDITIONS. NEGOTIATIONS MAY ALSO INCLUDE WORKING OUT AGREEMENTS BETWEEN LABOR AND MANAGEMENT REGARDING REDUCTION-IN-FORCE ACTIONS TO ARRIVE AT AN EQUITABLE SOLUTION TO MINIMIZE LAY-OFFS AND OTHER ADVERSE CONDITIONS.

28 NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN ON BEHALF OF THE MEMBERS OF LOCAL 2225 AND THE COMPANIES EMPLOYING THE MEMBERS OF LOCAL 2225 HAVE RESULTED IN RETAINING JOBS FOR MEMBERS THAT WOULD HAVE OR MAY HAVE BEEN LOST. THE LOCAL HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN OBTAINING PAY INCREASES FOR ITS MEMBERS AND RESOLVING GRIEVANCES FILED BY ITS MEMBERS AGAINST EMPLOYERS.THE LOCAL ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT IN NEGOTIATIONS INVOLVING OTHER LOCALS AND/OR THE NATIONAL UNION.
