	Maintenance and Enhacement Activities: The Foundation performs or sponsors research and development to develop enhancements for the OPC standard interface. The Foundation coordinates research and development activities undertaken as cooperative efforts among members of the Foundation. Such activities include development and publication of interface specifications, development of engineer and conformance testing and other servies and tools for the standard interface.

	Education and Informational Activities: The Foundation facilitates the exchange of information among interested parties to enhance the further elaboration of technical specifications for the OPC interfaces. The Foundation provides training seminars for members and the general public as well as facilitating demonstrations at trade shows of uses of the standards. The Foundation publishes newsletters to inform the industry and the public about the state of engineering, application and developments concerning the technology.

	Certification and Conformance Testing: The Foundation developed a worldwide conformance and certification program to test suppliers' products for conformance to the OPC standard interface.
