JAZZ COMBOS WERE HIRED CONSISTENTLY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO PROVIDE MUSIC AT SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS GALAS AND FUND-RAISERS, GIVING STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM IN SMALLER GROUPS. ALSO OF NOTE IS JAZZ BAND I'S 2ND PLACE WIN IN THE PRESTIGIOUS ESSENTIALLY ELLINGTON COMPETITION IN NEW YORK CITY. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2012, THE ROOSEVELT JAZZ BAND TOURED EUROPE REPRESENTING SEATTLE AND ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL AT A NUMBER OF JAZZ FESTIVALS ACROSS EUROPE. THE BAND PERFORMED AT THE JAZZ VIENNE FESTIVAL IN VIENNE, FRANCE, THE MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL, SWITZERLAND, IN AIX-EN- PROVENCE, FRANCE FOR THE TOULON JAZZ FESTIVAL, AS PART OF THE RATAPLAN YOUTH MUSIC IN MODENA, ITALY, AND IN PERUGIA, ITALY AS PART OF THE UMBRIA JAZZ FESTIVAL. A CD OF THE BAND'S UMBRIA PERFORMANCE WAS PRODUCED BY THE JAZZ BOOSTERS. CURRENT PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS AND A PROGRAM PROFILE ARE ALWAYS UPDATED ON THE ROOSEVELT JAZZ WEBSITE AT WWW.ROOSEVELTJAZZ.ORG.
