	During 2012 the New Mexico Green Chamber accomplishments included the following:WE FORMED AND EXPANDED CHAPTERS OF THE NEW MEXICO GREEN CHAMBER IN LAS CRUCES, ALBUQUERQUE, SANTA FE, TAOS, AND SOUTHWEST NEW MEXICO. THE GREEN CHAMBER HAS ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS A STATEWIDE VOICE ADVOCATING FOR LOCAL BUSINESS, CLEAN ENERGY AND TRIPLE BOTTOM LINE PRACTICES. THE ADVOCACY AND EDUCATION OF THE GREEN CHAMBER IN THE 2012 LEGISLATIVE SESSION HELPED DEFEAT LEGISLATION THAT WOULD DAMAGE THE FUTURE OF GREEN JOBS AND SMALL BUSINESS. AT THE SAME TIME, THE GREEN CHAMBER PROMOTED AND PROVIDED EDUCATION ON IMPORTANT LEGISLATION IN THE AREAS OF CLEAN ENERGY AND LOCAL PROCUREMENT THAT WILL PROTECT OUR LOCAL ECONOMIES AND MOVE NEW MEXICO FORWARD AS A RENEWABLE ENERGY LEADER. OUR LOCAL CHAPTERS PUT FORTH PROGRAMMING AND EVENTS THAT SUPPORTED THE SMALL, INDEPENDENT, AND LOCALLY OWNED BUSINESSES IN THEIR AREAS. IN ADDITION, THEY HELPED TO PROVIDE REGIONAL VOICES TO STATEWIDE EFFORTS TO GROW NEW MEXICO'S ECONOMY. OUR TOTAL MEMBERSHIP FOR 2012 TOTALED APPROXIMATELY 1,100 MEMBERS. OUR SECOND ANNUAL RENEWABLE ENERGY CONFERENCE IN LAS CRUCES WAS A GREAT SUCCESS WITH APPROXIMATELY 200 BUSINESSES PARTICIPATING. SENATOR JEFF BINGAMAN AND MICHAEL CARR FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY WERE THE KEYNOTE SPEAKERS.AFTER CONSULTING WITH DOZENS OF SOLAR, WIND, BIO FUELS, AND CLEAN TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES, WE DEVELOPED A "NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR BUSINESS" POLICY WHICH WE PRESENTED TO INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS AND NMGCC MEMBERSHIP.OUR FIRST ANNUAL SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS SUMMIT AND GREEN BUSINESS EXPO PROVIDED TOOLS AND EXPOSURE FOR SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES IN THE STATE. THE SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES AWARDS GIVEN AT THE EVENT RECOGNIZED THE EFFORTS OF SUSTAINABLE BUSINESSES ACROSS THE STATE.HOSTED A SERIES OF EVENTS WITH WHITE HOUSE OFFICIALS AS PART OF THEIR "BUSINESS FORWARD" PROGRAM. INCLUDING DISCUSSIONS WITH DR. HOLMES HUMMEL FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY. HOSTED LUNCHEONS WITH SENATOR TOM UDALL AND OUR BUSINESS MEMBERS IN ALBUQUERQUE AND SILVER CITY.
