SchD_P05_S00_L04 Schedule D, Part V, Line 4 IEEE Foundation awards grants to new and innovative projects and administers more than 159 donor designated funds that support a variety of educational, humanitarian, historical perservation, and peer recognition programs of IEEE.
SchD_P10_S00_L02 Schedule D, Part X, Line 2 The Foundation is qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) as an organization exempt from federal income tax and applicable state income tax and is classified as other than a private foundation under Section 509(a)(1) of the IRC. Nevertheless, the Foundation may be subject to tax on income unrelated to its exempt purpose, unless that income is otherwise excluded by the Code. The tax year ending December 31, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 are still open to audit for both federal and state purposes. This standard has not had an impact on the Foundation's financial statements, as management determined that there are no significant uncertain tax positions within its financial statements.
