SACRS was formed in the early 1970's to provide forums for disseminating knowledge of, and developing expertise in, the operation of county retirement systems existing under current law, as well as to foster and take an active role in the legislative process. Briefly describe the organization’s mission: State Association of County Retirement Systems (SACRS) is a not-for-profit association of 20 California county retirement systems enacted under the County Employees Retirement Law of 1937. SACRS was formed in the early 1970's to provide forums for disseminating knowledge of, and developing expertise in, the operation of county retirement systems existing under current law, as well as to foster and take an active role in the legislative process. To accomplish SACRS' mission of addressing issues of importance to members, SACRS, contracting with Strategic Local Government Services, provides a variety of association management services, including a membership directory, semi-annual conferences, and oversight of SACRS.org.
