Headquartered in Boise, the system has 5 digital transmitters at the following sites: Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Moscow and Coeur d'Alene - as well as 41 translators, which expand the digital broadcast signal throughout the mountainous state. Broadcast programming on IdahoPTV reaches approximately 155,000 homes each week which mirror Idaho's population demographic. Programs target small groups of viewers with diverse interests and tastes who look to IdahoPTV to provide programs not generally found on commercial or cable TV. Broadcast programming available on IdahoPTV is analyzed as follows: Children's Basic Skills 37%; News/Business/Public Affairs 21%; Formal Instruction 14%; Arts & Humanities 14%; Skills & Hobbies 7%; Nature/Science/Health 6%; Other 1%. *Does not include microwave-delivered classes. Idaho Public Television also maintains a website at idahoptv.org which reflects and complements the broadcast programming available on digital channels. In addition, this website offers enhanced resources for parents, caregivers, students and citizens who look beyond television to supplement their life experience. |
