What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Association provides wireless internet service to its members who live and work in rural areas of Santa Fe County through a non-profit member-owned and operated community cooperative.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Because the members are also the owners, the membership choses how to meet its needs, including, but not limited to, determining membership fees, bandwidth purchased, infrastructure equipment, and coverage areas and management. All work involved in designing, constructing, and maintaining the network is performed by volunteers, and technical advice is sought from professional consultants. In 2012, the membership decreased to about 360 members due to increase advertising by CenturyLink. 100 percent of the revenue received by the Association is from the membership; no sales are made to non-members.
