THE MISSION OF THE COLLEGE OF THE SAINT ELIZABETH, SPONSORED BY THE SISTERS OF CHARITY, IS TO BE A COMMUNITY OF LEARNING IN THE CATHOLIC LIBERAL ARTS TRADITION FOR STUDENTS OF DIVERSE AGES, BACKGROUNDS, AND CULTURES.

THE COLLEGE OF SAINT ELIZABETH IS A COLLEGE IN THE CATHOLIC, LIBERAL ARTS TRADITION. FOUNDED IN 1899 BY THE SISTERS OF CHARITY OF SAINT ELIZABETH, THE COLLEGE OF SAINT ELIZABETH IS THE OLDEST FOUR-YEAR LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGE FOR WOMEN IN THE STATE OF NEW JERSEY AND ONE OF THE FIRST CATHOLIC COLLEGES IN THE UNITED STATES TO AWARD DEGREES TO WOMEN. IN 1903, THE COLLEGE GRANTED ITS FIRST BACCALAUREATE DEGREES TO A CLASS OF FOUR WOMEN. TODAY, WITH MORE THAN 15,000 GRADUATES, THE COLLEGE REMAINS STRONG WITH A VITAL PURPOSE: TO PROVIDE A VALUE-CENTERED EDUCATION THAT RESPONDS TO TODAY'S SOCIETY'S NEEDS WHILE REMAINING TRUE TO ITS MISSION. THE COLLEGE OFFERS 36 UNDERGRADUATE DEGREES, INCLUDING THREE COMBINED BACHELOR/MASTERS DEGREES. AMONG THESE 36 UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS, SEVERAL ARE COED AND OFFER CLASSES IN THE EVENING AND ON WEEKENDS. STUDENTS CAN CHOOSE FROM 10 MASTERS PROGRAMS, OF WHICH JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC SERVICE ARE OFFERED ONLINE. THE BY-LAW CHANGE NOW SIMPLY READS, "THE PRESIDENT SHALL BE RECOMMENDED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND APPOINTED BY THE CORPORATION". 990, SECTION B. REVIEW POLICY PART VI, LINE 11A THE RETURN IS PREPARED BY AN INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTING FIRM BASED ON INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE ORGANIZATION AND IN CONSULTATION WITH THE ORGANIZATION'S STAFF. THE DRAFT PREPARED BY THE ACCOUNTING FIRM IS THEN CAREFULLY REVIEWED BY THE ORGANIZATION. THE DOCUMENT IS FURTHER REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE FINANCE COMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND THEN PROVIDED TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE COLLEGE. IT IS FILED WITH THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE AND SUBSEQUENTLY AVAILABLE ON GUIDESTAR.ORG.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY

OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, AND SELECTED EMPLOYEES (BASED ON THEIR LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY) ARE ANNUALLY REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST FORM. THESE FORMS ARE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES WHO THEN REVIEWS THEM WITH THE PRESIDENT AND THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION. THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATES THE PROCESS AND HOUSES THE AFOREMENTIONED SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS.
