Explanation:

Post 6012 has endured financial and leadership misfortune. This clearly includes personal malfesance on the part of individuals responsible for the financial conduct and operation of the post. This was further complicated by the failure of its once prosperous bingo as it succumbed to large commercially operated bingo units. Finally, the accountant of many years resigned followed by the unexpected death of his replacement. VFW Post 6012 has new leadership and broadened membership to include veterans of the conflicts in Iraqi and Afganistan. All sales and payroll taxes are paid and the accounts current. New accounting and other procedures have also been implemented to prevent past probems and the current 990 will be filed before its due date, November 15,2013. Accordingly, and for these and other reasonable causes, we request your assistance and set aside the penalty for late filing of this tax return
