    Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
    List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
    1 Lab research - There are two kinds of living organisms; Eukaryotes including humans and Prokaryotes including pathogenic bacteria. In our research, the CBRI is trying to find new antibiotics which target the ribosome recycling step of bacterial protein synthesis. During 2012, CBRI research was able to catch the intermediate of the ribosome recycling step by use of cryo-electron microscopy. In addition, our research discovered that the ribosome recycling factor is involved in the rescue of ribosomes from a stalled state, which is important because ribosomes are of vital importance for the maintenance of life. 247,262
    2 Conferences and Education - The results and discoveries of continued lab research were published in three reputed journals and presented at various conferences and meetings. CBRI employees and board members attended and made presentations during 2012 at conferences and meetings in San Francisco (USA), China, and the Russian Federation.
