What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? MISSION TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING THAT FAR TOO MANY ANIMALS ARE FORCED TO ENDURE, OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A NO-KILL SANCTUARY FOR ABANDONED AND ABUSED DOMESTIC ANIMALS WHERE LOVE FOR THE SOUL AND MEDICAL CARE FOR THE BODY WILL BE PROVIDED TO ALL WHO ENTER OUR GROUNDS. ALCHEMY ACRES PROVIDES ADEQUATE HOUSING, CARE, EXERCISE, AND ENRICHMENT - OFTEN INDIVIDUALIZED BASED ON THE ANIMALS' NEEDS. WE ALSO PROVIDE ALL OF THE ANIMALS' MEDICAL WORK, INITIAL SHOTS, WORMING AND CARE, MONTHLY PREVENTIONS (FLEA AND HEARTWORM), YEARLY VACCINES, AND ROUTINE CHECK-UPS AND EXAMS AS WELL AS CARE FOR SPECIFIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS. ALCHEMY ACRES IS A PLACE WHERE ANIMALS MAY RESIDE THEIR ENTIRE LIVES IF NEED BE.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 ADOPTION AND ANIMAL CARE SERVICES: LOVING, SAFE HOMES ARE SOUGHT OUT FOR OUR RESIDENTS AND ANY ANIMAL THAT IS DEEMED UNADOPTABLE IS ALLOWED TO LIVE OUT ITS NATURAL LIFE AT THE SANCTUARY. ANIMALS IN NEED OF PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CARE RECEIVE PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY SERVICES; INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO VACCINES, PSYCHOLOGICAL CARE, SPAYING AND NEUTERING, ETC. TOWARD THIS GOAL MANY SERVICES AND FOOD ITEMS ARE DONATED. DURING 2012 WE RECEIVED APPROXIMATELY 31,527 VOLUNTEER HOURS FROM LOCAL VETERINARIANS AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. SOME OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS INCLUDE DISH- WASHING, DOG BATHING, ANIMAL SOCIALIZATION, ANIMAL EXERCISE, CLEAN-UP DUTY AND FUNDRAISING. IN ADDITION, APPROXIMATELY 15 TONS OF DOG AND PUPPY FOOD, 2 TONS OF CAT LITTER AND 2 TONS OF CANNED CAT FOOD WERE RECEIVED AS DONATIONS DURING 2012. THE APPROXIMATE VALUE OF THE DONATED GOOD IS 13,800. ALCHEMY ACRES CARES FOR OVER 300 DOGS PER YEAR (HOUSING 90 AT A TIME), OVER 200 CATS PER YEAR (HOUSING 70 AT A TIME), IN ADDITION TO OVER 200 WILDLIFE INTAKES AND RELEASES PER YEAR AND OTHER VARIOUS ANIMALS.

ALCHEMY ACRES PROVIDES ADEQUATE HOUSING, CARE, EXERCISE, AND ENRICHMENT - OFTEN INDIVIDUALIZED BASED ON THE ANIMALS' NEEDS. WE ALSO PROVIDE ALL OF THE ANIMALS' MEDICAL WORK, INITIAL SHOTS, WORMING AND CARE, MONTHLY PREVENTIONS (FLEA AND HEARTWORM), YEARLY VACCINES, AND ROUTINE CHECK-UPS AND EXAMS AS WELL AS CARE FOR SPECIFIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS. ALCHEMY ACRES IS A PLACE WHERE ANIMALS MAY RESIDE THEIR ENTIRE LIVES IF NEED BE.
FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT FORM 990-EZ, PART III, LINE 28 ADOPTION AND ANIMAL CARE SERVICES: LOVING, SAFE HOMES ARE SOUGHT OUT FOR OUR RESIDENTS AND ANY ANIMAL THAT IS DEEMED UNADOPTABLE IS ALLOWED TO LIVE OUT ITS NATURAL LIFE AT THE SANCTUARY. ANIMALS IN NEED OF PHYSICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CARE RECEIVE PROFESSIONAL VETERINARY SERVICES; INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO VACCINES, PSYCHOLOGICAL CARE, SPAYING AND NEUTERING, ETC. TOWARD THIS GOAL MANY SERVICES AND FOOD ITEMS ARE DONATED. DURING 2012 WE RECEIVED APPROXIMATELY 31,527 VOLUNTEER HOURS FROM LOCAL VETERINARIANS AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE. SOME OF THE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS INCLUDE DISH- WASHING, DOG BATHING, ANIMAL SOCIALIZATION, ANIMAL EXERCISE, CLEAN-UP DUTY AND FUNDRAISING. IN ADDITION, APPROXIMATELY 15 TONS OF DOG AND PUPPY FOOD, 2 TONS OF CAT LITTER AND 2 TONS OF CANNED CAT FOOD WERE RECEIVED AS DONATIONS DURING 2012. THE APPROXIMATE VALUE OF THE DONATED GOOD IS 13,800. ALCHEMY ACRES CARES FOR OVER 300 DOGS PER YEAR (HOUSING 90 AT A TIME), OVER 200 CATS PER YEAR (HOUSING 70 AT A TIME), IN ADDITION TO OVER 200 WILDLIFE INTAKES AND RELEASES PER YEAR AND OTHER VARIOUS ANIMALS.
SECOND ACCOMPLISHMENT FORM 990-EZ, PART III, LINE 29 EDUCATION: WE PROVIDE EDUCATION ABOUT AND FUNDS FOR SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAMS. WE ATTEMPT TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF GENERAL PET CARE, VACCINATIONS AND NUTRITION. WE PROVIDE EDUCATION TO THOSE WE INTERACT WITH IN AN ATTEMPT TO PREVENT ANIMAL CRUELTY. THE CANFIELD MARKET ON THE GREEN IS ONE OF THE MANY AVENUES THROUGH WHICH THE PUBLIC IS EDUCATED; THIS EVENT IS MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH NONCASH DONATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC. IN ADDITION, 4 PCS, 4 MONITORS, A SCANNER AND A PRINTER/COPIER/FAX MACHINE WERE DONATED TO ALCHEMY ACRES VIA A GRANT (VALUE OVER 4,500) DURING 2012 TO FURTHER ASSIST US IN OUR OPERATIONS AND PROVIDED RESOURCES FOR EDUCATION.
