Facts And Circumstances Test
17A - SPRINGFIELD AMBULANCE CORPS IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY. THE CORPS PROVIDES 24 HOUR, 365 DAY A YEAR AMBULANCE SERIVCE. THE CORPS SOLICIT'S MEMBERSHIP DUES FROM FAMILIES IN SPRINGFIELD, DELAWARE COUNTY, PA WHICH SERVES AS THE INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE SHOULD THE FAMILY NEED EMERGENCY SERVICES DURING THE YEAR. NON SUBSCRIBERS/NON MEMBERS PAY THEIR INSURANCE DEDUCTIBLE SHOULD THEY BE TRANSPORTED. THE CORPS BILLS INSURANCE COMPANIES FOR TRANSPORTATION. IT RECEIVES NO TAX FUNDS OR GOVERNMENT FUNDING; ITS FUNDING COMES FROM FAMILY MEMBERSHIP DUES, INSURANCE FEES FOR TRANSPORTS AND INVESTMENT INCOME (ADDITIONALLY, IN 2012 THERE WERE PROCEEDS OF 50,000 FROM THE SALE OF AN OLD AMBULANCE). THE CORPS PAYS FOR PARAMEDIC INTERCEPT SERVICE PROVIDED THROUGH THE LOCAL HOSPITAL FOR ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT SITUATIONS.
