The organization had previously been subject to only Form 990-N (postcard) filing requirements. Volunteer officers (who only serve one-year terms in any given office) transitioned prior year records to the current Treasurer after the original due date for Form 990-EZ for the year ending 6/30/2013. The current Treasurer had been told of the postcard filing requirements but was unaware that for the year ending 6/30/13 the organization no longer qualified for postcard-filing treatment.The return was filed within two days of the current Treasurer determining that the organization was required to file Form 990-EZ for the year ending 6/30/13.The current Treasurer is a CPA had has established a "tickler" reminder for timely filing of Forms 990-EZ on a going-forward basis and will ensure that late filing will not occur in the future.Abatement of the late filing penalty is respectfully requested.
