An audit of the consolidated statements of financial position of New Hope Housing, Inc. and Affiliates was conducted for the year ended March 31, 2012. Houston Area Community Development Corporation is a sister non-profit organization of New Hope and its financial information was included in the consolidated audited financial statements.

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Brays Crossing - 149 units The City of Houston approached New Hope to develop Brays Crossing - what was once the dilapidated HouTex Inn. To facilitate the development, the City of Houston made a performance based grant to Houston Area Community Development Corporation, who, in turn, loaned the funds to FDI-Houston SRO, Ltd. The development also includes financing from Housing Tax Credits, allocated by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and funds from the City of Houston, as well as private charitable contributors, including the Houston Endowment Inc., The Meadows Foundation, and the United Way of Greater Houston.In late 2007, FDI-Houston SRO, Ltd. purchased property located at 6311 Gulf Freeway, I-45 at the Griggs Road exit. NHH at Brays Crossing, LLC is the general partner of FDI-Houston SRO, Ltd. New Hope Housing, Inc. is the developer of the Brays Crossing project. Designed by Glassman Shoemake Maldonado Architects, the property contains 149 units of efficiency apartment housing for individuals with low incomes. It also serves as a foundation for a large public art display that is integral to the building design. The property opened in February of 2010, and has achieved 100% qualified occupied. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: 4415 Perry - 160 units To facilitate the development of 4415 Perry, the City of Houston made a performance based grant to Houston Area Community Development Corporation, who, in turn, loaned the funds to Perry SRO, Ltd. The development also includes financing from Housing Tax Credits, allocated by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and funds from the City of Houston, as well as private charitable contributors, including the Houston Endowment Inc., The Brown Foundation, JPMorgan Chase Foundation and other foundations and corporations.As a LEED platinum certified property, 4415 Perry is New Hope's second energy-efficient, 'green' property. It is designed by distinguished Texas architect Val Glitsch, FAIA, LEED AP, who has designed three award-winning properties for New Hope. Camden Builders, Inc. is the general contractor and constructed the property at a cost of ~$77,000 per unit.Situated in one of Houston's historic neighborhoods - Foster Place, the Perry property is located south of the University of Houston off Griggs Road and Cullen Boulevard. Perry has 160 newly constructed units and is New Hope's sixth SRO property. The building opened in late October of 2012, and is already more than 50% occupied, which speaks strongly to the dire community need for this type of housing.
