Summary of Direct Charitable Activities

List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc.		Expenses
1	Taylor Matteson, of Manchester Iowa, held 3 different concerts in the Bandshell at Tirrill Park in Manchester, Iowa in June, July and September. Hanson Foundation provided $1,500 to be divided up at $500 per concert, to be used to help pay for the entertainment, advertising and miscellaneous costs. These events were free to the public with a free-will donation. The first concert was on June 16, 2012 featuring the Smith-Hart-Goens-Wagner Quartet. The West Delaware Jazz Band and Tuxedo Junction performed on July 29, 2012 followed by the Dale Thomas Band on September 1, 2012.In June approximately 75 people were served.In July approximately 135 people were served.In August approximately 200 people were served.	1,500
2	The last event was the "Young Artists Series" event held October 7-8, 2012, by the West Delaware Friends of Music(WDFOM). Students from West Delaware, Maquoketa Valley and Edgewood-Colsburg, were invited to participate. Students were given workshops on voice and then performed with the 2 Artists that evening. The concert had a minimal fee. The Hanson Foundation provided $2,000 to be used to help fund the program and to help keep ticket costs affordable to the public. Hanson Foundation and WDFOM would equally share any possible profits. The event broke even, with no profits. The event served approximately 155 people.	2,000
