	The organization was formed in response to the bankruptcy of commodity broker MF Global and acted as an advocate for customers of MF Global who had their assets frozen. The organization was instrumental in getting the courts to return over 80% of frozen customer funds. The CCC's James Koutoulas worked with specialized bankruptcy litigation counsel (Barnes & Thornburg) and appeared (pro bono) at numerous court hearings before Judge Glenn (Bankruptcy Court, Southern District New York). At the invitation of Senator Debbie Stabenow, John Roe testified before the Senate Agricultural Committee Hearing on the MF Global Failure. Given the multi-jurisdictional nature of the MF Global case(i.e., Chicago Mercantile Exchange in Chicago, Congress and CFTC in Washington, D.C., and the bankruptcy proceedings in New York), the CCC's two largest categories of expenses were legal fees and travel.
