As a membership-based organization, the Council delivers and promotes analysis of key subject issues by experts and coordinates events that promote networking.

	Executive Tours The Council sponsors special in-town and out-of-town Executive Tours for its senior subject matter expert members. In 2012, Council members visited and were briefed at the ATF Headquarters, the Pentagon Force Protection Agencys Emergency Operations Center, and went to the New York/New Jersey region to meet with state and local officials on emergency preparedness and Southern Florida federal facilities to discuss maritime and airport security in the region.

	Executive Roundtables, Executive Briefings, Public Policy Meet & Greets and Homeland Security Industry-Government Receptions The Council hosts discussions and meetings throughout the year that bring senior level private sector members together to hear from and engage in a substantive conversation/discussion with various senior homeland security officials. Some of these programs are open only to Council members and some include leaders in homeland security policy from the greater community. Invited guests, panelists, and presenters include officials from the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Congress, and other relevant/related Federal agencies, etc. The Council also hosts quarterly informal receptions that further encourage substantive interaction between senior government and industry officials.

	Annual Dinner and Annual Members Meeting The Councils Annual Business Dinner is held each December and is open to its senior executive members, strategic partners and public officials to engage in peer-to-peer networking. The event honors an outstanding public official with its annual Lifetime Service Achievement Award. The Councils Annual Members Meeting is held each spring to discuss the highlights of the previous year and get input from the membership on its programs and initiatives for the coming year. The organizations Annual Report of the previous year is distributed at the Annual Members Meeting.

In 2012, Council members visited and were briefed at the ATF Headquarters, the Pentagon Force Protection Agencys Emergency Operations Center, and went to the New York/New Jersey region to meet with state and local officials on emergency preparedness and Southern Florida federal facilities to discuss maritime and airport security in the region. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Additional Programs/Initiatives The Council has an active Thought Leadership Committees with specific-issue workgroups/initiatives and coordinates a Public Policy Initiative that invites Members of Congress and senior congressional staff to brief the members. These activities are open to the entire membership. The work of the committees provide the strategic direction, identify the priority issues of concern to our members and offer advice and counsel to the Council staff in their direct dealings with public officials. The Council also produces and electronically distributes a weekly News Roundup and monthly Newsletter to its members. The Council also compiled, printed and distributed its complete Compendium on its previous year's "9-10-11 Project" focusing on the role the private sector has played over the previous decade since 9/11. The Compendium was distributed to all appropriate Members of Congress, campaign policy staff, community leaders and critical administration officials.
