Organization changed their bylaws in 2012. The Nominating Committee changed from six members to five. There was a change in the term for officers and members of committees to a one year term, eliminating the language "nomination of Directors from members". The Friends of Laureal Hill Cemetery is now a non-membership organization. Also, the Organization adopted a formal Whistleblower policy, Conflict of Interest Policy and Record Retention Policy.

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Strategic planning:The Friends participated in an organization-wide initiative to update the Organization's mission statement and strategic plans. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Celebration for the 175th anniversery of the Laurel Hill cemetery:2011 marks the 175th year of Laurel Hill Cemetery. To commemorate the anniversary, the Friends carried out a number of special initiatives in addition to their regular programming and activities. These included the publication of a new book; the planting of 175 new specimen trees; the completed restoration of the Medallion Gardens; the launch of a four-year Civil War Sesquicentennial exhibit series; the installation of gravestones at three unmarked graves of historic notables; the installation of two memorial benches; and the execution of two major anniversary events. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: Preservation and conservation of cemetery archives:The archives conservation project has enabled Laurel Hill Cemetery Company,the Friends of Laurel Hill Cemetery, and historians and researchers to have much better access to vital historical records of the Cemetery's families and of its development since 1836. These records are now catalogued and preserved for future generations.
