SERVED 776 PEOPLE. -SHORT-TERM SHELTER FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE IN NEED OF EMERGENCY HOUSING. SERVED 2 IN 2012. -SPIRITUAL LIFE PROGRAMS PROVIDE A WIDE VARIETY OF SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDING PASTORAL COUNSELING, CAREER COUNSELING, MARRIAGE RECOVERY WORSHIP SERVICES, WEDDINGS, MEMORIAL SERVICES, CLASSES, GRIEVING AND PRAYER GROUPS. SERVED 4,878 INDIVIDUALS. -AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS THAT HELP STUDENTS ACHIEVE MENTALLY, PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY ARE OFFERED IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY SCHOOLS FOR BOTH ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS. SILVER BAY ALSO SUPPLEMENTS THESE SCHOOL-BASED PROGRAMS WITH ACTIVITIES AT THE SILVER BAY CAMPUS WHICH EXPOSE YOUTH TO CHALLENGES THAT BUILD LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND SELF-ESTEEM. MORE THAN 18,131 IN SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PROVIDED FOR THIS PROGRAM. 15 CHILDREN WERE ENROLLED. -DAY CAMP IS PROVIDED DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS TO PROVIDE YOUTHS WITH WHOLESOME AND POSITIVE ACTIVITIES THAT FOCUS ON THE CORE VALUES OF CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITY. THIS PROGRAM ALSO BENEFITS WORKING PARENTS BY RELIEVING THE STRESS OF BALANCING WORK AND KNOWING THEIR CHILDREN ARE IN A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENT. MORE THAN 25,788 IN SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PROVIDED FOR THIS PROGRAM. SERVED 843 CHILDREN DURING SUMMER SEASON. -YOUTH AND GOVERNMENT IS A PROGRAM THAT DEVELOPS LEADERSHIP ABILITIES IN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND HELPS THEM BECOME GOOD CITIZENS THROUGH LEARNING AND EXPERIENCING OUR DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. THIS PROGRAM ALSO GIVES TEENS POSITIVE ROLE MODELS AND HELPS THEM DEVELOP BETTER SELF-ESTEEM, A STRONG WORK ETHIC, GROUP SKILLS AND AN INTEREST IN CIVIC INVOLVEMENT. 117 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM. -SILVER BAY SERVES AS THE HOST SITE FOR NATURE'S CLASSROOM, WHICH IS AN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WHO EXPERIENCE LIVING AND LEARNING TOGETHER. THE STRENGTHENED PEER COOPERATION AND EXPANDED STUDENT-TEACHER RELATIONSHIPS HAVE AN INFLUENCE ON THE COGNITIVE GROWTH OF THE STUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEARS. TOGETHER, THEY RETURN TO THE CLASSROOM UNITED THROUGH THIS SHARED EXPERIENCE TO ACHIEVE THE COMMON GOAL OF THE PURSUIT OF KNOWLEDGE. SCHOLARSHIPS AND SUBSIDIES ARE PROVIDED TO THIS PROGRAM. SERVED 1,957 STUDENTS. -LEADERS SCHOOL BRING TEENS FROM YMCAS THROUGHOUT THE NORTHEAST TOGETHER TO LEARN LEADERSHIP SKILLS, DEVELOP VALUES FOR DAILY LIVING, DEVELOP MORAL AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOR BASED ON CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES, DEVELOP SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ACQUIRE NEW KNOWLEDGE AND WAYS TO GROW IN SPIRIT, MIND AND BODY. 313 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED. -SCHOOL GROUPS COME TO SILVER BAY FOR TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITIES THAT HELP YOUTH TO LEARN TO WORK TOGETHER TO ACCOMPLISH GOALS, BUILD SELF-ESTEEM BY STEPPING OUT OF THEIR COMFORT ZONES AND IDENTIFYING PERSONAL STRENGTHS TO BECOME BETTER LEADERS. 1,003 SERVED -EDUCATIONAL LECTURES AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED TO HELP ADULTS LEARN NEW SKILLS AND BECOME AWARE OF CURRENT ISSUES IN A RAPIDLY CHANGING WORLD. 4,352 SERVED -FITNESS CENTER AND HIKING TRAILS ARE PROVIDED YEAR-ROUND TO ENCOURAGE HEALTHY LIFESTYLES FOR ALL AGES. 5,861 SERVED -LIFETIME ACTIVITIES LIKE CANOEING, ARCHERY, TENNIS AND EXERCISE CLASSES ENCOURAGE BOTH YOUTH AND ADULTS TO ADOPT HEALTHY LIFESTYLES. 17,072 SERVED -A NO-COST LENDING LIBRARY FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES PROVIDES FOR LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. 2,071 SERVED SILVER BAY AND THE GLENS FALLS HOSPITAL FORMED A PARTNERSHIP TO ASSIST FAMILIIES AFFECTED BY CANCER. THROUGH THE HOSPITAL'S C.R. WOOD CANCER CENTER, MORE THAN 44 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED SERVICES. THESE INDIVIDUALS WERE PROVIDED PROGRAM, FOOD AND ACCOMMODATIONS ALL AT NO COST TO THEM. THE PROGRAMS GAVE FAMILIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO RECONNECT, GROW SPIRITUALLY, MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY. THE SERVICES ARE VALUED AT 3,020. IN 2012 SILVER BAY OFFERED ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY PERSONNEL AND THEIR FAMILIES THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR PROGRAMS AT NO COST TO THEM. 99 INDIVIDUALS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RENEW AND RELAX IN AN ATMOSPHERE THAT PROVIDED PROGRAMMING THAT HELPED INDIVIDUALS TO USE OUR PROGRAMS, RECONNECT WITH THEIR FAMILIES BEFORE OR AFTER DEPLOYMENT; ALLOWED USE OF FACILITIES TO HELP THE INDIVIDUALS FIND COMFORT THROUGH OUR SPIRITUAL PROGRAMS AND TO GROW BOTH MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY. THE SERVICES ARE VALUED AT 15,671. THE SILVER BAY YMCA TEEN CENTER IN TICONDEROGA, NEW YORK WAS OPENED ON OCTOBER 29, 2012. THE TEEN CENTER IS A SAFE PLACE FOR YOUTH, WHERE STUDENTS INTERACT WITH THEIR PEERS ON LEVEL PLAYING FIELD, CARING ADULTS PROVIDE A SAFETY NET OF SUPPORTIVE SERVICES, AND FUN, FELLOWSHIP AND SELF-DISCOVERY FLOURISH. STUDENTS HAVE ACCESS TO A VARIETY OF RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES: FROM OPEN GYM TO ARTS AND CRAFTS; HOMEWORK HELP; AND THE YMCA LEADERS CLUB PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM IS AVAILABLE TO ANY TEEN IN THE NORTH COUNTRY IN GRADES 6 THROUGH 12 AT NO COST. THIS PROGRAM HAS AN ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET OF 115,000. 224 YOUTH PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM.

THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AS THE ASSOCIATION CONDUCTS BUSINESS, THE CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY IS REVIEWED IF THE ASSOCIATION NEEDS TO CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH A BOARD MEMBER OR ONE OF ITS ASSOCIATES. IT IS NOT THE PRACTICE OF THE ASSOCIATION TO CONDUCT BUSINESS WITH A BOARD MEMBER; BUT IF IT IS DEEMED BENEFICIAL AND RESPONSBILE TO DO SO, WE THEN FOLLOW THE FOLLOWING STEPS. THE BOARD MEMBER INVOLVED IN THE BUSINESS TRANSACTION MUST EXCUSE THEMSELVES FROM ANY DISCUSSION OR RELATED VOTE. THEY MUST UPDATE THEIR CONFLICT OF INTEREST FORM TO NOTE THE EXTENT OF THE BUSINESS AND THE LENGTH OF TIME THE TRANSACTION WILL TAKE PLACE.
