THE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL PROGRAM HELD DURING THE SPRING OF 2012 SAW THE PARTICIPATION OF APPROXIMATELY 300 BOYS AND GIRLS. TEAMS PLAY IN THE KEARSARGE MOUNTAIN SOUTH LEAGUE AND TRAVEL TO AREA TOWNS TO PLAY OTHER COMMUNITY TEAMS IN THEIR AGE BRACKETS. ALL TEAMS ARE COACHED BY VOLUNTEERS WHO STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND TEACH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE GAME. ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE PRESENTED WITH A TROPHY AT THE END OF THE SEASON.
SECOND ACCOMPLISHMENT

THE BASKETBALL PROGRAM HELD DURING THE WINTER OF 2012 CONTINUES INTO 2013. APPROXIMATELY 288 BOYS AND GIRLS PARTICPATED IN THE 2012-2013 SEASON. TEAMS PLAY IN THE MERRIMACK BASKETBALL LEAGUE, A RECREATIONAL LEAGUE. ALL TEAMS PARTICPATE IN THE END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT. TEAMS ARE COACHED BY VOLUNTEERS WHO STRESS GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP AND TEACH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF THE GAME. THE KINDERGARTEN "LITTLE DRIBBLERS" PROGRAM WHICH BEGAN IN 2010 CONTINUES TO GROW AND IS A BASIC BUT FUN INTRODUCTION TO THE GAME. ALL PARTICIPANTS RECEIVE A TROPHY AT SEASONS END.
THIRD ACCOMPLISHMENT

THE SOCCER PROGRAM HELD DURING THE FALL OF 2012 INVOLVED THE PARTICPATION OF APPROXIMATELY 240 BOYS AND GIRLS. TEAMS PLAY IN THE MERRIMACK VALLEY SOCCER LEAGUE. THE KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM WHICH BEGAN IN 2003 CONTINUES TO GROW AND INTRODUCES THE CHILDREN TO THE GAME BUT STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING FUN. TEAMS ARE COACHED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM THE WEARE COMMUNITY AND ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE PRESENTED WITH A MEDAL AT THE END OF THE SEASON.

SCHOLARSHIPS: EACH YEAR THE WEARE ATHLETIC CLUB AWARDS TWO (2) FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR (500) SCHOLARSHIPS TO JOHN STARK HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS. AN APPLICATION IS COMPLETED AND REVIEWED BY THE BOARD MEMBERS. STUDENTS ARE CHOSEN ON THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN WEARE ATHLETIC CLUB AND OTHER COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND ON THEIR ESSAY ON THE MEANING OF TEAMWORK AND GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP.
