	The Spring Refresher is an annual continuing medical education program that also includes exhibits of medical products and services. In 2012, the program had 31 educational sessions on topics in pediatrics, orthopedics, geriatrics, diabetes, cardiology, etc. Eighty-five booths were filled with organizations with products or services that would be of interest to family physicians. Attendance included 315 physicians, 12 allied professions, 38 family medicine residents and 7 medical students for a total of 372.Our Legislative Advocacy Program is one of the most valued of our member services. Under a legislative consulting agreement, we engage a legislative representative who monitors legislative activities, provides bi-weekly updates during the legislative session to our 3000 members via e-mail, and coordinates opportunities for family physicians to testify about issues affecting their practices and their patients. In 2012, 7 Legislative Updates were prepared. Our Legislative Committee reviews proposed legislation and recommends positions on them to the Board of Directors.Our Communications Program includes a bimonthly newsletter, e-mail News Flashes and our web-site. In FY 11-12, we published 6 issues of the Minnesota Family Physician, which informs our members about opportunities for professional education, employment, and enhancing their practices. Each News Flash includes timely information and links to other sources on our web-site. The web-site is a common source of information about organizational happenings, practice transformation and activities for medical students and family medicine residents.
