FIN 48 DISCLOSURE SCHEDULE D PART X LINE 2 IEEE-ISTO has received a determination letter from the Internal Revenue Service concluding that it is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. A program of IEEE-ISTO (TIZEN Association formerly known as LiMo Foundation) has applied for its exemption from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code. The application is still under review. During 2008, management has some concerns that the application may be denied by the IRS. As a result of the concern of the exemption being granted management concluded it was necessary to calculate and record the potential tax liability for years 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010. During 2011, management determined that the statue of limitations had expired on 2007 and reversed $1,609,318 which was originally reserved for the potential tax due on 2007 change in net assets. As a result, a provision for federal income taxes has been recorded in 2011 and 2010 in the amount of $365,553 and $992,770, respectively. This amount represents the potential tax due including interest if exempt status is not received. IEEE-ISTO adopted the accounting pronouncement dealing with uncertain tax positions, as of January 1, 2009. Upon adoption of this accounting pronouncement, IEEE-ISTO has no unrecognized tax benefits. Furthermore, IEEE-ISTO had no unrecognized tax benefits at December 31, 2011 and 2010. Our evaluation was performed for the tax years ended December 31, 2008, 2009, 2010, the tax years which remain subject to examination by major tax jurisdictions as of December 31, 2011.
