What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? AFGE Local 1399 is the recognized and exclusive representative for all general schedule and wage system Employees engaged in Federal Personnel work and is defined as the bargaining unit employee. It is the intent and purpose of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 1399 to safeguard the public Interest, protect the rights of the employees, and to encourage and facilitate amicable settlement of disputes involving conditions of employment within the meaning of chapter 71 of title 5 of the United States Code, referred as the Federal Labor Management Relations Statute.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 AFGE Local 1399 helped a bargaining unit employee keep her job after a proposed removal (FIRED) after 23 years of service. We started a labor management committee to meet with management over issues that come up and we can work them out without having to file a grievance. We had a successful EEO age discrimination dispute settled. We had a disparate treatment case settled. A lunchroom case where employees who could not eat at their desks, can now do so.
