	Doctors of optometry in North Dakota are required to attend 50 hours of continuing education in a 3 year cycle in order to maintain their license to practice. The education attended must be approved by the North Dakota State Board of Optometry.The annual congress held October 1-4, 2011 had 97 registrants, who attended state approved training courses for a total of twelve (13) hours of continuing education.Continuing education assures that Doctors of Optometry, practicing in the state of ND, are well-informed in the latest practices, technology, procedures, pharmacology, management modalities and developments in eye care.

	Doctors of optometry in North Dakota are required to attend continuing education in order to maintain their license to practice. The education attended must be approved by the North Dakota State Board of Optometry.The spring conference held February 17-18, 2011 had 67 registrants, who attended seven(7) state approved training courses for a total of nine (9) hours of continuing education. Continuing education assures that Doctors of Optometry, practicing in the state of ND, are well-informed in the latest practices, technology, procedures, pharmacology, management modalities and developments in eye care.

	NDOA received a grant from Optometry Cares (AOA Foundation) for the project "Think About Your Eyes" to educate the public on the importance of children receiving eye exams prior to starting school. The project consisted of running children's vision ads on TV and radio during the fall of 2011. Packets of information was also given to parents of children registered to enroll in kindergarten in the fall of 2011 and January 2012.
