Part X Part X : FIN48 Footnote The Association is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code and similar state provisions. The Association includes a portion of the operations of the LLC as unrelated business income. The Association's unrelated business activities resulted in no taxable income in 2012 and 2011. The Oregon Association of Realtors Home Foundation is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and similar state provisions. The Oregon Realtors Political Action Committee is exempt from income taxes under Section 527 of the Internal Revenue Code and similar state provisions, but is taxed on interest and dividends earned from its interest-bearing accounts and investments. Management does not believe the Association or affiliated entities have any tax positions that do not meet the more likely than not criteria. Accordingly, the Association has not recorded any liability for uncertain tax positions to its major tax jurisdictions. The Association did not record any penalty or interest related to its tax positions and, if any were recorded, those amounts would be included in general and administrative expenses. The tax years that remain open for examination by the appropriate taxing authorities for the Association as of December 31, 2012 are 2009, 2010 and 2011, generally three years from the date the return was filed. Total state taxes paid by for the Oregon Realtors Political Action Committee for the years ended December 31, 2012 and 2011 were $150 and $150 respectively.
