What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE IS TO COMMIT TO EXCELLENCE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH INFORMATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF PATIENTS AND PROVIDERS. AS THE MEMBERSHIP BODY OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS, THE ORGANIZATION FOSTERS THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF ITS MEMBERS THROUGH EDUCATION, REPRESENTATION, AND LIFELONG LEARNING. THESE COMMITMENTS PROMOTE QUALITY HEALTH INFORMATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, HEALTHCARE CONSUMERS, PROVIDERS, AND OTHER USERS OF CLINICAL DATA.

28 THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL SERVICES, IN PART BY DISTRIBUTING 3 NEWSLETTERS AND HOSTING 7 WEBINARS ON TOPICS OF INTEREST FOR ITS 2,410 MEMBERS IN TENNESSEE. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO UPDATED THE LEGAL HANDBOOK WEB PORTAL AND PROVIDED 4 SEMINARS IN NASHVILLE IN ADDITION TO AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE HELD IN MEMPHIS, WHICH WAS ATTENDED BY 158 MEMBERS.
