	NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon (NPCO) works through the political and legislative systems to advocate for comprehensive reproductive health policies and to secure reproductive choice for all Oregonians. NPCO defends the right to choose and works to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, thereby reducing the number of abortions. Using sophisticated political strategies, extensive grassroots organizing, and effective lobbying, NPCO has fought and won numerous pro-choice victories in its 36 year history.Within the Oregon legislative system, NPCO's focus is on decreasing health disparities among women, particularly low income women and women of color. We have successfully supported and worked to pass legislation around culturally competent health care, prenatal care for all women, using community health workers and data collection by race/ethnicity to better inform existing health disparities and develop policies to address those disparities. Additionally, NPCO has been a strong advocate for health care exchange policies inclusion of a full range of reproductive health options and we have worked to increase women's awareness of the benefits of health care reform and encourage enrollment.Our organization educates our constituency regarding threats to choice in Oregon. We have partnered with Raising Women's Voices in support of health care policies with seek to increase women's access to reproductive health care options rather than limit them.Grassroots advocacy is at the heart of our work. Our constituency includes more than 452 volunteers who are actively engaged in our work to protect choice in Oregon. We actively engage our supporters in their communities; this year, NPCO participated in 43 different community events and hosted a "Walk for Women's Health". Through an expansion of our social media program, we have provided weekly public education on reproductive health care to more than 6,000 Oregonians. NPCO actively tracks the "likes" and "shares" our Facebook posts receive, and the open rates of the newsletters we send out. We have seen a 17% increase in Facebook "fans" in the last six months. Based on the impact of the post or newsletter, we tailor each to be more widely shared and viewed by our fans.
