Form 990-EZ Part III PRIMARY EXEMPT PURPOSE - PARTNER WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS RECREATION OF THE CITY OF HARRISONBURG, VA IN THE OPERATION OF THE FIRST TEE OF HARRISONBURG PROGRAM. TO BE PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FUNDRAISING NECESSARY TO OPERATE DEVELOP FACILITIES FOR THE PROGRAM WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THE FOUNDATION IS LIKELY TO EXCLUSIVELY OPERATE THE PROGRAM IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS A YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM USING A JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM KNOWN AS THE FIRST TEE, WHICH IS AVAILABLE FOR BOYS AND GIRLS FROM AGE FIVE TO EIGHTEEN RESIDING WITHIN THE CITY OF HARRISONBURG AND ROCKINGHAM COUNTY AND BEYOND. THE PROGRAM SERVICES OVER 500 YOUTH PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP THROUGH GOLF-RELATED ACTIVITIES AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, LIFE ENHANCING VALUES SUCH AS JUDGEMENT, INTEGRITY, RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT, HONESTY, CONFIDENCE, PERSERVERANCE, COURTESY, AND SPORTSMANSHIP. THE FOCUS OF THE PROGRAM IS TO REACH OUT TO YOUTH OF ALL DIVERSITIES, SOCIAL STRATA, AND THOSE WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES.
