What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE ORGANIZATION WAS ORGANIZED IN 1978 FOR THE PURPOSE OF STIMULATING AND MAINTAINING GROWTH IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA, MOST SPECIFICALLY WITHIN THE TRADE AREA OF THE CITIES LOCATED IN TOWNER COUNTY, NORTH DAKOTA, WHICH CURRENTLY HAS A POPULATION OF LESS THAN 3,000 PEOPLE.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 ONE OF THE CHALLENGES IN PROMOTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IS THE AVAILABILITY OF ADEQUATE HOUSING IN THE AREA, NOT ONLY IN THE ATTRACTION OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO MOVE INTO THE AREA TO FILL NEW JOBS, BUT ALSO IN THE RETENTION OF CURRENT RESIDENTS WHOSE HOUSING NEEDS CHANGE OVER TIME.THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED WITH OTHER SIMILAR ORGANIZATIONS IN THE REGION IN COMMISSIONING A JOINT COMPREHENSIVE STUDY OF HOUSING IN THE REGION. THE MAIN FOCUS OF THE STUDY IS DEALING WITH THE CHANGES IN DEMAND FOR AND SUPPLY OF VARIOUS TYPES OF HOUSING AS THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THE POPULATION OF THE REGION HAVE CHANGED IN RECENT DECADES AS TO AGE, FAMILY TYPE AND FAMILY SIZE.
