FROM JULY 1, 2012, THROUGH JUNE 30, 2013, QUALIFYING HCI CARE SERVICES PATIENTS IN NEED RECEIVED CHARITY CARE VALUED AT $371,600. THE COST OF THE CHARITY CARE, BASED ON HCI CARE SERVICES' COST-TO-CHARGE RATIO WAS APPROXIMATELY $316,000. HCI CARE SERVICES ALSO RECEIVES SIGNIFICANT IN-KIND DONATIONS OF TIME AND EFFORT THROUGH ITS VOLUNTEERS. ALL HCI PATIENTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR QUALITY OF LIFE FUND BENEFITS, AND ALL ATTEMPTS ARE MADE TO UTILIZE COMMUNITY RESOURCES PRIOR TO USING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FUND. BEST EFFORTS ARE USED TO ENSURE THAT ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED FOR PATIENTS IN NEED AND WITHOUT OTHER MEANS OF ASSISTANCE OR ACCESS TO OTHER BENEFACTORS, AND THAT USE AND CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THE FUNDS IS CONSISTENT.
