What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The Good Neighboring Foundation's mission is to help Asian immigrant families become active citizens of the United States by increasing access to information, developing capacity for civic engagement, and building civic accountability - supporting them to reach their full potential and maximize their contributions to the United States and thereby become an integral part of strengthening the American society.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The following are the programs service and accomplishment Good Neighboring Foundation made in 2013. 1)Asian Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (Asian RSVP)Asian Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (Asian RSVP) has been run since July in 2013. The purpose of this program is to help Asian seniors with the age of 55 and above live meaningful and healthy life by volunteering for communities with their experience and time.Good Neighboring Foundation, Inc. had two information sessions to introduce Asian Retired and Senior Volunteer program and recruited about 40 Asian seniors. Those Asian senior volunteers were matched with various volunteer opportunities like Gwinnet Habitat restore, Hope Store, Centerville Senior Centers, Caregiver conference, Senior Connections, Care Pointe, Emory Johns Creek hospital, ARC, etc. About 20 Asian seniors actually volunteered those places regularly and their total hour of volunteer is about 350 hours in 2013. Asian Retired and Senior Volunteer Program was also introduced in Birmingham, Alabama with information session. 2)KAmerican PostKAmerican post is online media to convey information on America to Korean immigrants nationwide. The readership increased more 2000, thus total number of people who receive the email news from KAmerican Post is 11801. About 250 articles uploaded on KAmerican Post and articles of KAmerican Post were emailed to readers 60 times in 2013. Five local Korean American media are permitted officially to use articles of KAmerican Post in their online or offline media in 2013. 3)Civic Leadership Program for YouthTwenty one Korean American high school students completed 1st Civic Leadership Program for Youth on March 2013. They took class on leadership like Speaker Series every Month and finished individual projects. Twenty five Korean American high school students joined 2nd Civic Leadership Program for Youth since August 2013. 4) Patriot Pocket CardSix hundred Patriot Pocket Card which read National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance both in Korean and English were distributed to Korean immigrant in Georgia as well as in other states.
