Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder Members consist of those individuals involved in the Pork industry at all levels. A small membership fee is charged for membership.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a: How Members or Shareholders Elect Governing Body Members elect the board of directors. Each year some of the board member positions are up for election. Members also must approve any changes or additions to the bylaws of the organization.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 7b: Describe Decisions of Governing Body Approval by Members or Shareholders Bylaw changes require membership approval. All actions of the board are viewed by the membership and any questions are addressed. An oversight committee oversees the decisions made by the board and by the paid staff.
Form 990, Part VI, Line 11b: Form 990 Review Process Form 990 is prepared and signed and filed and then provided to overall governing board upon thier request.

All of the board members know one another well both at a business and personal level. Compliance with the Conflict of Interest Statement is accomplished through an informal process of becoming familiar and involved in the lives of each board member at a personal level.

Each year in December, the employees, including the executive director complete a self evaluation form. This form is given to the executive director who reviews it and adds comments as needed. The evaluations are presented to the board of directors in executive meeting. The board recommends compensation adjustments as they deem appropriate. The employee meets with the executive director and two members of the board to discuss the adjustments to compensation and any other recommendations.
