Briefly describe the organization’s mission: THE MISSION OF THE BUSH-CHENEY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION IS TO ENGAGE IN ACTIVITIES TO PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE, INCLUDING SPONSORING CHARITABLE EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS TO PROVIDE THE PUBLIC WITH A DEEPER UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRINCIPLES AND WORK OF THE PRESIDENCY OF GEORGE W. BUSH AND THE VICE PRESIDENCY OF RICHARD B. CHENEY. BCAA requires potential members to fall into one or more of the following categories to be considered for membership: - worked in an appointed position in the Bush-Cheney administration; - was nominated to the Senate at any time during 2000-2008, but not confirmed; - worked on the Bush-Cheney 2000 or 2004 campaign as paid staff; - worked in a volunteer advance position for the White House; - worked at the Republican National Committee at any time during 2000-2008 as paid staff; - worked as a Presidential Military Aide at any time during 2000-2008; - worked as a member of the White House Medical Unit at any time during 2000-2008; - worked as a volunteer on the 2000 Florida Recount team; - worked as a member of the Coalition Provisional Authority staff; - worked on the 2000 or 2004 Republican National Convention as paid staff; - worked on the 54th or 55th Presidential Inaugural Committee as paid staff; or - worked on the 2000 incoming Presidential Transition Team. Anyone not eligible for membership under a category included above may apply for membership. The membership committee will consider these applications on an individual basis. There are no classes of membership. Membership dues are $50 per year for anyone who meets one or more of the above categories and wants to join the association. Conflict of Interest	Part VI, Section B, Question 12c	The Bush-Cheney Alumni Association (BCAA) annually sends the conflict of interest policy along with a disclosure form requesting disclosure of any conflict or confirmation that no conflict exists. The conflict of interest policy states that in connection with any actual or possible conflict of interest, an interested person must disclose the existence of the financial interest and be given the opportunity to disclose all material facts to the directors and members of committees with governing board delegated powers considering the proposed transaction or arrangement. After disclosure of the financial interest and all material facts, and after any discussion with the interested person, he/she shall leave the governing board or committee meeting while the determination of a conflict of interest is discussed and voted upon. The remaining board or committee members shall decide if a conflict of interest exists. If a conflict of interest arises: A) an interested person may make a presentation at the governing board or committee meeting, but after the presentation, he/she shall leave the meeting during the discussion of, and the vote on, the transaction or arrangement involving the possible conflict of interest. B) The Chairperson of the governing board or committee shall, if appropriate, appoint a disinterested person or committee to investigate alternatives to the proposed transaction or arrangement. C) After exercising due diligence, the governing board or committee shall determine whether the BCAA can obtain, with reasonable efforts, a more advantageous transaction or arrangement from a person or entity that would not give rise to a conflict of interest. D) If a more advantageous transaction or arrangement is not reasonably possible under circumstances not producing a conflict of interest, the governing board or committee shall determine by a majority vote of the disinterested directors whether the transaction or arrangement is in the BCAA's best interest, for its own benefit, and whether it is fair and reasonable. In conformity with the above determination it shall make its decision as to whether to enter into the transaction or arrangement.
