VOLUNTEERS BENEFIT BY HAVING ACCESS TO A COMPLETE REGISTRY OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES, WITH AN EASY SYSTEM OF SEARCHING AND SELECTING OPPORTUNITIES. IN 2013, WE UTILIZED THREE EDUCATIONAL FORUMS..BREAKFAST FOR CHAMPIONS, A BROWN BAG LUNCH SERIES AND THIRSTY THURSDAYS LEADERSHIP EXCHANGE. WE ALSO PROVIDE ACCESS TO ONLINE RESOURCES AND INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATIONS ON TOPICS RANGING FROM VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT TO PROBLEM-SOLVING. THE CENTER PROVIDES AN EQUIPMENT LENDING CLOSET PROVIDING OVER 100 PIECES OF SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT FOR AGENCIES TO BORROW AT NO COST. THE CENTER COORDINATES VOLUNTEERS TO ACCOMPLISH SPECIAL PROJECTS FOR OUR MEMBER AGENCIES. THROUGH THE RESOURCE CONNECTION, THE CENTER CONNECTS IN-KIND DONATIONS TO MEMBER AGENCY NEEDS.

THE WISCONSIN CITIZEN CORPS COUNCIL AWARDED DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FUNDING TO THE VOLUNTEER CENTER OF WASHINGTON COUNTY TO FILL A GAP IN EMERGENCY RESPONSE CAPABILITY IN WISCONSIN - EMERGENCY VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT. THE 3-YEAR GRANT, WHICH CONCLUDED IN DECEMBER OF 2012, PROVIDED VOLUNTEER RESOURCES, A TRAINING CURRICULUM, A STATE-WIDE EMERGENCY VOLUNTEER REGISTRY AND ASSISTANCE DURING EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND LONG TERM RECOVERY MANAGEMENT. THIS LOCAL PROGRAM NOW RUNS AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE VOLUNTEER CENTER AND IS SUPPORTED BY LOCAL DOLLARS.
