THE LEAGUE PROVIDED FUNDING AND MANPOWER FOR THE EVENTS THAT BENEFITTED BOTH THE CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS. LEAGUE MEMBERS WERE ABLE TO TEACH THE CHILDREN NEW THINGS THROUGH POSITIVE INTERACTIONS. APPROXIMATELY 150-200 ADULTS AND CHILDREN WERE SERVED.

UPSTATE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER - THE LEAGUE ASSISTED THE MISSIONS OF THE UFRC BY PROVIDING TWO EVENTS GEARED TOWARD ENCOURAGING THE TEEN MOMS TO CONTINUE WITH THEIR EDUCATION WHILE ALSO TAKING PROPER CARE OF THEIR CHILDREN AND THEMSELVES. THERE WAS A END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR CELEBRATION TO RECOGNIZE THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE MOMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND THE ATTENDEES MUST HAVE HAD NO UNEXCUSED ABSENCES FOR THE YEAR. APPROXIMATELY 25 TEEN MOMS ALONG WITH THEIR PARTNERS AND FAMILIES WERE SERVED.

HUB CITY FARMERS' MARKET - THE LEAGUE PARTNERED WITH THE MARKET TO ESTABLISH A MONTHLY TENT AT WHICH KID-FRIENDLY RECIPES AND SNACKS WERE AVAILABLE. THE MARKET PROVIDED MOST OF THE INGREDIENTS AND THE LEAGUE MEMBERS PREPARED THE RECIPES. THIS INTERACTION PROVIDED A HANDS-ON, INTERACTIVE EVENT FOR CHILDREN TO LEARN MORE ABOUT SEASONAL PRODUCE AND TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO MAKE HEALTHIER EATING CHOICES. APPROXIMATELY 250-300 ADULTS AND CHILDREN WERE SERVED.
