Wingspans 990 is created by an external, Independent auditor. The 990 is first reviewed by our external and independent financial accounting firm. The finance committee of Wingspan is made up of board members and community members. The finance committee is tasked with reviewing the 990 prior to submission to the IRS. Finally, the entire Wingspan board is give the opportunity to review the 990 prior to submission to the IRS.
Conflict of interest policy compliance Part VI line 12c
Wingspan has a conflict of interest policy for its staff and board members.Board members who have a conflict must abstain from voting or being involved in matters where a conflict may exist. Staff must disclose a conflict of interest to the ED or board. At each January meeting, all board members are reminded to review any potential conflicts of interest with Wingspan. To help guard Wingspan against conflicts of interest, the board uses an external financial accounting firm and a finance committee. These groups offer independent advice and consent for the financial matters of Wingspan (including the procurement process) and help the organization avoid conflicts of interest.
Governing documents etc available to public Part VI line 19
The Wingspan board maintains electronic copies of its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements in a Microsoft One-Drive Account. Each board member has access to these documents. The public is able to contact the Wingspan board via the publicized email: board@wingspan.org. If a request to see these documents is received, a board member would meet with the requesting individual and go over the appropriately requested documents.

Pt 3 Statement of program accomplishments:From July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014 the Wingspan Anti-Violence Program (AVP) provided crisis intervention and advocacy services to 306 survivors of violence. Of those, 151 had experienced intimate partner/relationship/domestic violence. 54 had experienced sexual violence or assault; experienced bias-motivated/hate violence, 101 experienced harassment and/or discrimination. AVP staff answered 632 crisis calls and provided resource information and advocacy assistance to victims. AVP staff and volunteers provided awareness training to 3,012 service providers, law enforcement agents, educators and community members. Additionally, the AVP insured the success of two agency projects that expand the reach of the AVP to underserved populations. These projects, Senior Pride and Puertas Abiertas (Open Doors) serve LGBT seniors and LGBT Latina/o people respectively. From July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, Senior Pride provided welcoming social, support and educational programming, as well as a monthly newsletter to over 800 people. Puertas Abiertas provided support, social and educational programming through monthly events, monthly support group meetings as well as the annual Tucson Latina @ LGBT Pride Week. Puertas reached more than 900 people from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014. The EON Youth Program is a comprehensive youth-driven empowerment program for LGBTQ and allied young people ages 13-23. Services include the EON Youth Lounge, a safe substance-free drop-in center offering daily support and discussion groups, leadership, activism and career-enhancement activities, tutoring, sexual health education, HIV prevention and testing services, substance abuse prevention and an on-site therapist. EON also includes a homeless youth project, which provides participants with food, hygiene products, clothing and the advocacy needed for self-sufficiency. EONs unique youth-driven model is solidified by a strong youth leadership team, which helps to guide the program and encourages youth to become leaders in their own lives, and to use their voices, ideas and energy to create a strong future for Wingspan and the LGBT Community. From July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014 the EON Youth Program had 3,736 drop-in visits by 1202 youth. 95% of EON participants report that their involvement with EON has given them the information and tools that they need to make healthier choices. 93% reported having more confidence or feeling better about themselves as a result of participating in the EON programs. The Homeless Youth Project (HYP) provided direct services to 372 youth with reoccurring visits totaling 1721. EON staff also provided trainings to service providers reaching more than 2,700 people through its outreach efforts. Additionally, EON provides technical assistance to Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) clubs in schools, as the home of the Arizona chapter of the National GSA Network. Trans Parents, the Wingspan project supporting the parents and caregivers of transgender, gender diverse, questioning and gender-creative children, ages 5-13, provided support to over 30 families, through monthly support/social groups and the 2nd Annual Camp Born This Way, camp experience, which provided these children, their guardians and their siblings the opportunity to strengthen their confidence, life skills and experience the freedom to live, play and grow without judgment.
