    Summary of Direct Charitable Activities
    List the foundation’s four largest direct charitable activities during the tax year. Include relevant statistical information such as the number of organizations and other beneficiaries served, conferences convened, research papers produced, etc. Expenses
    1 National Education:NMA Educates a range of audiences, including parents, teens and health care professionals, about meningococcal disease and its prevention. The organization also supports adolescent vaccination generally through direct communications and via partnerships and coalitions. NMA's national educational efforts include maintaining an updated website with disease and prevention information, stories from families who have been affected by meningococcal disease, and downloadable resources for the public, educators, and health care professionals. The site had 130,000 unique visitors in 2012. 400,706
    2 Spokesperson outreach and community education:NMA has two robust volunteer programs: Moms on Meningitis (M.O.M.s) and Together Educating about Meningitis (T.E.A.M.). These include more than 75 family members in 30-plus states who have experienced meningococcal disease. M.O.M.s and T.E.A.M. members conduct community education activities, such as speaking at schools and participating in media interviews, to advance NMA's mission. They also participate in NMA's ongoing national programs and represent NMA in public forums that address vaccination policy.
