	Bareboat Cruises - A major program organizes trips outside the local sailing area for a week or more on chartered sailing vessels. Some trips remain in US waters, other originate in foreign destinations (Caribbean, Turkey this past year.) Heavy volunteer involvement in planning these trips with no remuneration keeps costs down.

	Social: Eight major social events were held in 2012. Most social events are at Weekend sailing destinations with an average participation of about 100 members. Social events increase opportunities for members to share their enthusiasm about the sport of sailing as well as the love of the water. Volunteers organize, facilitate and oversee these events. Smaller regional social events are held through the winter to keep members involved in the organization.

	Cruising on the Chesapeake Bay: Weekend sails and day sails are the core activity of this organization. Sailing events are hosted most weekends from mid April to early November plus there are monthly mid-week daysails and a week long extended bay cruise. Participation by numerous volunteers, including skipper members , allow the fees and expenses to be kept low. Member skippers provide the boats, and regular members provide crew for the boats developing skills and love for the Chesapeake Bay and coordinate the sails. This is both an educational and social experience. All participants are volunteering their time and expertise. Use of the boats is an "in kind" donation by the skipper members, who receive no remuneration for the use of their boats.
