28 THE WINDSOR HEIGHTS VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT'S PURPOSE IS FIRE PREVENTION AND THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM FIRES AND EMERGENCIES. OUR MAIN COVERAGE AREA CONSIST OF 240 FAMILY DWELLINGS A DOG KENNEL TRUCKING STATION A CHURCH AND 4 COMMUNITY BUILDINGS. OUR MUTUAL AID AREA CONSISTS OF 2 ADDITIONAL VILLAGES WHICH CONTAIN APPROXIMATELY 480 FAMILY DEWELLINS A UNIVERSITY 2 PRIMARY SCHOOLS BEER DISTRIBUTING COMPANY DIG DEBBEK NURSING HOME A STEEL MILL AND SEVERAL COMMUNITY BUILDINGS. THE DEPARTMENT HOLDS FIRE PREVENTION PROGRAM AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL AS WELL AS COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR THE VILLAGE.
