The certificates and degrees conferred are registered by the NYS Department of Education. Pratt is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education and the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation. Pratt offers 22 undergraduate degrees and 25 graduate degrees in Art & Design, Architecture, Liberal Arts & Sciences (UG), Information & Library Science (G) and Center for Continuing & Professional Studies. In addition, Pratt provides students with opportunities to enroll in seven double-degree programs. It also offers five programs leading to an advanced certificate award in Art & Design Education, Archives Programs, Library & Information Specialist and Museum Libraries, and also minor programs in Construction Management, Cultural Studies and History of Art & Design, which are also available. | FORM 990, PART III - STATEMENT OF PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS | LINE 4B: PUBLIC SUPPORT: ----------------------------------- - Launched the Urban Manufacturing Alliance, a network of over 30 cities working together to grow and sustain manufacturing in urban communities - Launched the Retrofit Standardization Initiative to expand the residential retrofit market by creating standard packages of energy efficiency measures that can be applied to dozens of thousands of similar homes without a costly, time-consuming energy audit - In Sheepshead Bay, we collaborated with Pratt Institutes School of Architecture and local homeowners associations to develop an innovative resiliency plan for raising and rebuilding waterfront homes devastated by Hurricane Sandy in a community-wide fashion. - We produced groundbreaking new reports including the first comprehensive study on the Brooklyn Navy Yards economic impacts and lessons learned from its success. This work is helping to build a new model for industrial job creation supported by non-profit ownership of industrial space. - As a member of the Southern Bronx River Watershed Alliance, we successfully won a commitment from the City to transform the deleterious Sheridan Expressway Corridor, removing trucks from residential streets, providing access to green space, and creating new mixed-income housing reforms we have championed for fourteen years. | |

Pratt Libraries provide outstanding service and access to a resource-rich environment that facilitates critical thinking and creative teaching and learning in the Pratt Community. Pratt also offers ongoing support and initiatives through Writing and Tutuorial Center, Intensive English Program and Writing Across the Curriculum. Pratt's Brooklyn and Manhattan computer labs are updated with the latest hardware, software and specialized printing to aid students in their creative process. Students have full access to knowledgeable lab staff while utilizing any lab resource. In addition, Pratt's Digital Arts Lab serves as a research facility dedicated to the interdisciplinary exploration, invention, study and creative inquiry at the nexus of the arts, technology and culture. The introduction of fabric printing services in the Digital Output Center has been a great success and is being used by many students from various majors. The major expansion of print services include IT's new Specialty Output Center which houses an array of photo plotters and large format printers and will speed up the flow of student print jobs. | |

Pratt provides students with opportunities to live, work and create with some of the most interesting, creative and inspiring minds as well as support and a full array of services, programs and activities. Some of the students' achievements: Macy's features knitwear designs by Pratt fashion students in midtown Manhattan windows; 2 Pratt graduates make Forbes' "30 Under 30" list, 3 Pratt students in the national showcase of college creativity was featured in The New York Times and an exhibition created by three Pratt students in SILS went on display at the Digital Public Library of America. Institutional Support Institutional Support Includes expenses for the administration and management of budgets, finance, human resources, security and accounting services. It also includes the development and fundraising activities and other general institute's expenditures. Pratt provides Information technology Service Desk which offers a great deal of technology services and technical help & assistance to students & staff. In addition IT runs "Laptop Programs" mandatory for some academic departments and students. Expansion of the Center for Sustainable Design Studies which serve as a physical and virtual hub for Pratt's commitment to educate environmentally responsible citizens and encourages the use of Pratt's campus as a living laboratory linking the classroom to campus initiatives. It houses a materials research center that supports faculty, students and alumni in the integraton of sustainability into their professional lives. Pratt Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation has been established for the purposes of creating a place for Pratt's entrepreneurial alumni to transform ideas into viable businesses and are open to the public. The Incubator provides space and ongoing strategic mentorship to start-up businesses. Pratt also maintains the Copy Center which provides print services to students, faculty and staff. Operation & Maintenance of Plant Operation & Maintenance of Plant include expenses for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, management and support of the operations of physical plant facilities, utilities, cleaning and other related functions, and capital renovation projects, etc. Developed space uses committee to serve as a working advisory group to provide input and support to the operations of the Office of the Executive Director of Planning, Design, Construction and Facilities with regard to space allocations. Renovation of 13 townhouses has been completed and used as students housing. The townhouse renovation project is a multi-year project to reconstruct 27 townhouses into contemporary housing (new kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, fire protection systems) to accommodate 6 students. Campus-wide projects to address various interior renovation and relocations to accomodate programmatic, space & utilization changes have been completed as follows: conversion of the Engineering & Main Building offices for IT, Incubator Office, and also Completion of the cleanup phase of the Main Building which was on fire on 2/15/13 etc. Ongoing renovations of the building (exterior & interior) for the restoration and occupancy of floors one through four of the six-story building are anticipated to be completed by March 2014. Continuation of a campus-wide health and safety project to identify and address unforeseen critical issues, multi-year project on replacements to exterior/interior building features and MEP infrastructure systems, comprehensive Pratt House repair & restoration project & various other capital projects required. Auxiliary Services Auxiliary Services includes expenses in the administration and maintenance of five dormitories, townhouses and off-campus housing, which provide housing for Pratt's students.
