| Members or stockholder classes and rights Part VI line 6 | Category 1 Members:Any rural local exchange carrier serving less than 40,000 access lines and holding a certificate of convenience and authority from the Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) to provide basic local telecommunications service in a specific geographic area in Kansas as of January 1, 1997, or the successors of such entities, is eligible for Category 1 membership in this association. Category 2 Members:Any individual, firm, partnetship, corporation or cooperative operating as a telecommunications coompany, authorized to do business in Kansas, or any other telecommunications company as may be approved by the board of directors, is eligible for Category 2 membership in this association. No member of Category 2 can be a direct affiliate or under the control of an existing local exchange carrier operating in the state of Kansas, or have more than 40,000 access lines. This would include wireless carriers, ISPs, LD companies, CLECs, Etc. Category 3 Members:Any individual, firm, partnership, corporation or cooperative with interests in common with the association, as determined by the board of directors in its sole discretion, and furnishing or supplying goods or services to current Category 1 or 2 members, and not otherwise eligible for Category 1 or 2 membership, is eligible for Category 3 membership in this association. Category 4 Members:The board of directors may, in its sole discretion, from time to time, grant an honorary membership to those of its choosing. Such honorary members shall be considered as Category 4 members. |
